Immortal Martial Arts Center was founded in 2018 by UFC legend “The Immortal” Matt Brown. Matt Brown was a professional fighter from 2004 to 2023, was a contestant on The Ultimate Fighter Season 7, and has dedicated his life to the pursuit of martial arts and fitness. He holds numerous records in the UFC, including 2nd most knockouts in UFC history and the most finishes in the welterweight division, and the gym is owned and operated by him.
The mission of Immortal Martial Arts Center is to develop and encourage members of the community to lead healthy, fulfilling lifestyles and achieve fitness-related goals through progression in the martial arts. The program states that it offers innovative martial arts and fitness in a fun, clean, safe and positive environment, and that its mission is to provide and create the opportunity for members to achieve their highest self through systematic progression in the martial arts. The gym describes its commitment to building a thriving community of growth and achievement in a fun, clean and safe environment, and to persevering each day towards excellence in martial arts and life.
Since opening its first martial arts gym location in 2018, Immortal Martial Arts Center describes itself as dedicated to changing lives through martial arts, education and coaching. Families are asked to bring sandals, crocs, or other easy on-and-off footwear to wear off the mats, and to be barefoot on the mats. Shorts and a T-shirt are acceptable for all kids and adult classes, and workout attire such as rash guards and spats is also acceptable. Students who plan to attend Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu or Judo and already have a Gi are asked to bring it; the gym sells high-quality Gis at affordable prices and can provide a loaner Gi if notified ahead of time. If students have equipment such as gloves, shin guards, or mouth guards, they are asked to bring them; the gym sells kids 8oz gloves, adult 16oz gloves, and shin guards in all sizes, and has loaner gloves and shin guards available on a first-come, first-served basis.
