About
Northeastern Ohio Christian Youth Camp offers worship sessions, outdoor adventures, and wholesome recreation. Campers take part in activities such as basketball, volleyball, and baseball during their week at camp.
• Ages: 8–18 years old
• Schedule: One-week sessions during July for grades 3–12, including Senior Week (9–12), Junior High Week (6–8), Beginner’s Week (3–5), and a Family Camp for all ages
Northeastern Ohio Christian Youth Camp began in 1955 when Don and Francis Hill and a group led by Bob Manasco started a Christian camp in northeastern Ohio, first renting the Great Trail Girl Scout Camp near Minerva. From 1956 to 1973, the camp was held at various campgrounds, and in 1973 it held its first year at its current campgrounds near Lisbon. The campground now spans 47 acres and includes over 20 cabins, 3 large pavilions, basketball and volleyball courts, baseball fields, several bathhouses, and a playground. The camp’s stated purpose is to establish and maintain, through the efforts and support of Christians, a camp for young people dedicated to teaching, good fellowship, and wholesome recreation, consistent with Christian standards and purposes.
The 2026 camp dates list leaders for each session: Senior Week (9–12) is led by Stephen Lindenberger and Jeff Bowser; Junior High Week (6–8) is led by Rich Mason, Micah Marshall, and Jason Shodd; Beginner’s Week (3–5) is led by Chuck Hopkins, Ryan Evans, and Andrew Masterson; and Family Camp (All Ages) is led by Greg Jones and Stephen Lindenberger. The camp was founded by Don and Francis Hill, with Ted Waller noted as another founder who was in charge of construction of the cabins. NOCYC is a non-profit organization supported entirely by volunteers and donations, with volunteers helping run and maintain the camp. Donations are tax deductible, can be made by check mailed to the camp or via debit card through a donate link, and there is an Amazon Wishlist for purchasing items that are shipped directly to the camp.
