Camp Akita Summer Camp offers a co-ed, residential camp experience where campers take part in activities such as hiking, basketball, a ropes challenge course, fishing, swimming, and canoeing. Campers use a 7-acre lake for fishing, swimming, and canoeing, and have access to over 1,200 acres of land with 15 miles of marked hiking trails, a nature sanctuary, and a basketball court.

Camp Akita is a year-round retreat and cabin rental facility with modern, spacious accommodations and can also accommodate weddings with locations for the ceremony, reception, and overnight lodging for guests. Camp Akita is a ministry of First Community in Columbus, Ohio. Camp Akita is accredited by the American Camp Association. Founded in 1949 by Dr. Roy Burkhart on land donated by the Galbreath family, Camp Akita describes its mission as being a place of fun and reflection where all who enter are encouraged to strengthen their relationship with God, self, others, and nature.
