About
Massillon Family YMCA Youth Programs include access to a game room, a child watch playroom called “The Playroom,” and a studio gymnastics center. The programs also connect families to a 25 meter swimming pool with 6 lanes and a deep end, a full court basketball gymnasium, and 2 racquetball courts. Child Watch, also called “The Playroom,” is a free service for children of YMCA members while their caregivers are attending classes or using the Y for fitness or recreational purposes, with a limit of 2 hours per day and the option to close up to 30 minutes early if no children are present.

For nearly 160 years, the YMCA has been listening and responding to its communities. The mission of the YMCA is to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build a healthy spirit, mind and body for all. The YMCA of Western Stark County is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. The organization states that its impact is felt when an individual makes a healthy choice, when a mentor inspires a child, and when a community comes together for the common good. It also states that it works side-by-side with neighbors so that everyone, regardless of age, income or background, has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive, and that it is community centered, brings people together, and mobilizes local communities to effect lasting, meaningful change. While caring for children, the Child Watch program states that it will provide a positive, safe, fun environment.
