About
Tuscarawas County Center for the Arts offers gallery exhibitions, events, receptions, meet-the-artist opportunities, classes, workshops, and professional development. The program takes place in a gallery setting with a pottery studio and a second story exhibit, gallery, and library expansion.
• Schedule: Open Tuesday–Friday from 10 am to 2 pm, and Saturday from noon to 4 pm.
Tuscarawas County Center for the Arts is a non-profit 501c3 arts organization with a mission to provide opportunities for community excellence through the arts. The organization has been a partner in the community since 2001 and serves Tuscarawas and surrounding counties, including elementary, middle, high school, college, and adult students, as well as programs for area schools and individuals who are developmentally disabled. Unique features include the Jennifer Hunt Memorial Scholarship for help with fees and tuition, hosting the Ohio Governor's Exhibition competition every year, and three expansions that include an initial gallery redesign and parking, a pottery studio expansion, and a second story exhibit, gallery, and library expansion.
Executive Director Jeannine Kennedy is a highly successful area arts educator and Chair of the Music and Arts Department at Dover High School, serves as Adjunct Professor of Art at KSU Tuscarawas, and is an active Dover School Board member, Rotarian, and long-serving community champion. The Board of Directors for 2018–2019 includes Bill Singhaus, Brad Zimmerman, Margaret Cugliari, Shelly Beitzel, Susan Hunt, Martin Kail, Kevin Kutz, Kathy Pietro, Harley Sefert, Jeff Bryan, and Peggy Sibila. The program shares the quote, “Every man is guilty of all the good he did not do” by Voltaire.
