About the provider

Camp Ho Mita Koda was founded in 1929 and is described as the first and oldest operating summer camp in the world for kids with T1D. The camp states its mission is to help children living with Type 1 Diabetes grow in mind, body, and spirit through an outdoor camping experience that strengthens their confidence and creates a community of peers. It is accredited by the American Camp Association and is a member of the Diabetes Education and Camping Association.

The camp states it welcomes boys and girls in grades K-12 for one-week sessions and offers a low camper-to-staff ratio. The program page says campers can participate with or without diabetes in Buddy Camp. The schedule is subject to change.
