Camp Invention introduces an all-new experience where participants explore the inner workings of gadgets in the Gadget Garage module, including excavating a useful gearbox, taking apart a wind-up robot, and repurposing its parts for fresh creations. In the Ooze and Aahs module, they investigate nature’s tiniest organisms, explore slimy substances, create a device to protect aquatic wildlife, and invent a nature-inspired solution to control a new invasive species. Through the New Heights module, they design and build towering superstructures, then construct, test, and modify their sustainable masterpiece, and in the Stuck! module they design an exclusive new product, compete in a prototyping challenge, earn Scrappy Bucks, and visit the Sticky Situation Station.

Camp Invention is part of several programs promoting innovation for all ages in all communities and offers a Leaders-in-Training program for 7th–9th graders, where LITs gain mentoring and collaboration skills while helping guide campers throughout the week at in-person locations. The program’s mission states that it inspires emerging creators and entrepreneurs through its education programs and honors the history of innovation through its museum and Hall of Fame Inductees. It has been honoring the spirit of innovation and promoting inventors as role models since 1973, impacting more than 4 million children, students, educators, and innovators across the nation since that time. Camp Invention is in partnership with over 1,400 districts nationwide and in Puerto Rico over the past year, is founded and supported in partnership with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, and works with 2,144 philanthropic partners making STEM education more accessible.
