Camp Lionheart offers a free, week-long overnight grief camp for children and teens in Ohio. It includes regular summer camp activities and structured grief and trauma-informed group counseling sessions for ages 8-17.

About the provider
Camp Lionheart is in its 20th year of existence and operates under Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Ohio. The program’s mission is to provide a healing and compassionate space as campers explore grief, strengthen coping skills and healthy expression, build connectedness and friendship, and facilitate fun. Leadership includes Clinical Director Kristen Santel, LISW-S, and Assistant Directors Danielle Weatherholtz, LPCC-S, and Elizabeth Cannon, LPCC-S.
The 2026 program year is full and at capacity. The waitlist for this year is also full. The program is free.
