Impact Prevention Youth Empowerment Activities is part of Impact Prevention (IP), an agency that focuses on mental health promotion and drug and alcohol evidence-based prevention strategies. The program operates under the vision “Healthy Choices, Healthy Communities.”

Impact Prevention (IP) was established in the fall of 2015. Certification through Ohio Mental Health and Addiction Services was completed in 2016 and is current. The agency’s non-profit status was secured with the Internal Revenue Service, Department of Treasury in October of 2017. From an initial staff of two employees, IP now has five full-time employees and two part-time employees.

The IP Board was first established in 2018 with three Board Members: Josh Ison, Jerrie Goodwin, and Johnna Seward. IP is now on-boarding additional Board Members to match the agency’s growth, including Tomi Blankenship and Cara Salyer. The broader leadership team includes John Goodwin, Mollie Stevens, Josh Ison, Jerrie Goodwin, Johnna Seward, Tomi Blankenship, and Cara Salyer. Impact Prevention’s service area has expanded from Lawrence County to Scioto County and includes Adult Ally Regional Learning Collaborative training that touches six other southern Ohio counties: Gallia, Brown, Meigs, Vinton, Logan, and Adams.
