Young Rep Productions presents live theatre productions for young performers and audiences. The current production is The Adventures of Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain, adapted by F. Scott Regan, and the upcoming production is Sweeney Todd School Edition.
• Schedule: The box office is open Tuesday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and starting one hour before each performance.
• Price: Groups of 10 or more are eligible to receive a group discount, with Special Discounted Group Rates available for groups of 10 or more.
The program is part of the Toledo Repertoire Theatre, which has been Toledo's Community Theatre since 1933. The mission of the Toledo Repertoire Theatre is to educate, entertain and serve Toledo and the surrounding region through live theatre. Sweeney Todd has been awarded eight Tony Awards, including Best Musical, for its Broadway premiere, and the School Edition used here is adapted for high school performers with lyric and key changes. The Toledo Repertoire Theatre is supported in part by American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds allocated by the City of Toledo and the Lucas County Commissioners and administered by The Arts Commission. Leadership and staff roles include Technical Director Paul Alday, Properties Coordinator Brad Riker, Costume Coordinator Angie Patchett, Office Administrative Manager Morgana Swift, and Web Coordinator Anita Crane, along with a board that includes President Gary Insch, Vice-President Jeffrey Albright, Treasurer Bonnie Herrmann, Secretary Drew Kadel, and members Eric Hillenbrand, Kyle Hollar, Robert Koenig, Cameron McMillan, Rebecca Schmidt, Tyler Yard, and Irina Zaurov. During performances, smoking is permitted outside only, cameras and recording equipment are prohibited by law in the theatre, and cell phones, pagers, and beeping watches should be turned off.
