About

Dayton Futbol Academy offers a range of soccer activities, including season play, tryouts, callback and supplemental tryouts, a Juniors Program, a Winter Technical Skills Program, and a Speed & Agility Program. The program also runs special events such as a Free Skills Clinic, a clinic with Ali Weibel, a Season Kick-off Party, and Picture Day. For Fall 2025 Picture Day, all players are required to wear their black jerseys.

• Ages: 5–18 years old
• Schedule: Options include a 6-week Speed & Agility Winter 2025–2026 program on Monday evenings from November 10th to December 22nd, a Free Skills Clinic on November 8th, 2025 with separate late-morning and early-afternoon time slots by birth year, main tryouts every spring with supplemental tryouts at the end of summer, callback and supplemental tryouts on Saturday, May 31st, 2025 at 1:00 PM, and a Fall 2025 Picture Day on Sunday, October 12th from 10:00 AM–1:00 PM
• Price: Photo packages on Picture Day range from $6–$40 and can be purchased on-site with cash or check

The academy’s leadership team includes Club Director Randall Walters, Director of Training Latif Affini, Technical Trainer Daniel Anoi, Physical Therapist and Speed & Agility lead Caleb Norton, and Goalkeeper Trainer Alessandro Malterer. Walters has a background playing soccer at a top-tier collegiate level, experience with Coerver Coaching, and advanced degrees supporting a coaching philosophy that emphasizes player development and technical skill. Affini is a former Wilmington College player with over 30 years in the Dayton soccer community, has coached at Wilmington High and in ODP, has helped players move from Division I scholarships to the MLS, and also provides one-on-one training. Anoi brings a high-level playing background from Ghana and several years of youth coaching in Ohio, with four years at Dayton Futbol Academy focusing on holistic player development. Norton holds a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree and is a record-breaking former Otterbein University soccer and baseball player who leads the Speed & Agility Program. Malterer is an NCAA Division I goalkeeper at Wright State University, a Fall 2025 Business graduate, and has experience with FC Cincinnati 2 (MLS NEXT Pro) and Italy’s A.C. Sporting Cecina.

The Winter Technical Skills Program focuses on dribbling, creative moves, and passing precision, and the Speed & Agility Program is led by a Doctor of Physical Therapy. The Juniors Program is for U7 and U8 players who are moving from recreational soccer into a club setting, and the DFA Academy offers the highest competitive levels in the region once players reach U13. Season play is available for players between 8–19 years old. The program uses an indoor complex described as a state-of-the-art indoor facility.
