About

Dayton Futbol Academy offers soccer training that includes club tryouts, the DFA Juniors Program, and the DFA Academy for older competitive players. The program also runs a Speed & Agility Program, a Season Kick-Off Party for players, families, and coaches, Picture Day with Speedshot, and special training events such as a clinic and training session with Kent State and Philippines National Team defender Ali Weibel.

Dayton Futbol Academy states that its mission is to ignite a passion for soccer within every player and foster individual growth on and off the field, aiming to be a premier soccer academy that cultivates talent and sportsmanship while producing accomplished soccer players and well-rounded individuals. The program includes a Free Juniors Program that serves the Miami Valley and participates in the Troy Strawberry Soccer Classic with Dayton Futbol Academy teams. For Fall 2025 Picture Day, all players are required to wear their black jerseys.

The leadership team includes Club Director Randall Walters, Director of Training Latif Affini, Technical Trainer Daniel Anoi, Physical Therapist Caleb Norton, and Goalkeeper Trainer Alessandro Malterer. Walters has a background playing at a top-tier collegiate level, has worked with Coerver Coaching, and holds advanced degrees along with a stated coaching philosophy. Affini is a former Wilmington College player who has coached at Wilmington High and in ODP and has helped players secure D1 scholarships to the MLS. Anoi has a high-level playing background in Ghana and several years of youth coaching experience in Ohio. Norton is a Doctor of Physical Therapy and a record-breaking former Otterbein University soccer and baseball player who leads the Speed & Agility Program. Malterer brings current NCAA Division I goalkeeping experience from Wright State University and experience with FC Cincinnati 2 (MLS NEXTPRO) and Italy’s A.C. Sporting Cecina.

Dayton Futbol Academy notes that the DFA Juniors Program is for U7 and U8 players transitioning from recreational soccer to a club setting, and that the DFA Academy offers the highest competitive levels in the region once players reach U13. Tryouts are held for players born between 2019 and 2008, with 26–27 tryouts scheduled for May 18–22, 2026, and callback and supplemental tryouts for specific boys’ and girls’ birth years on May 31, 2025, at 1:00 PM. Registration is handled digitally through the website, and registrations for U9 and above are managed through the mandated Demosphere system.
