Shining Light After School Ministry offers food, games, songs, videos, biblical teaching, and worship as part of its regular activities. The program is an after school ministry for children in kindergarten through 6th grade and meets on Thursdays. Transportation is provided to pick up students after school and bring them to the church, which is one mile away from the school.

Community outreach at the church includes Shining Light roles such as teaching, games, food service, bus driving, and music. On November 1, 2023, Wheelersburg Methodist Church became a Global Methodist Church congregation.
