About the provider
The Police Athletic League began in New York City in 1914. OKC PAL Sports works in partnership with the OKC Police Department and OKC Public Schools. The program has four full-time police officers running programs in designated OKCPS schools during school hours, and it also has after-school mentoring and martial arts programs. Its mission is to impact the next generation through sports and mentorship and to create a safe place for kids to play while improving the relationship between police officers and youth.
Players must maintain a D or above to play in games with the PAL teams. If a child is failing one or more classes, they are placed on a two-week probation period and may still play in games and practice during that period. After that, if they are still failing, they cannot play in games until their grades improve. Parent and Guardian Code of Ethics and participation waiver are listed.
