• Ages: 3–5 years old
• Schedule: Enrichment classes are conducted in the classroom daily.
The Renaissance Schools Enrichment Program is part of a family-owned and operated organization that has been owned by Lori and J. Todd Crosby since 1996. The program’s mission is to provide the highest quality of care and to support parents by providing children with a loving, nurturing, and clean environment. Both campuses are nationally accredited and are Oklahoma DHS 5 Star Top rated centers, and this institution is an equal opportunity provider. The schools have surveillance cameras in each classroom, common area, and playground that are monitored by administration staff, and the buildings remain locked with coded keypad entry for parents. Both campuses are equipped with a tornado/safe room, and children participate in monthly drills.
Trained Enrichment Teachers are qualified in various areas of the enrichment program. All staff members are First Aid/CPR/AED certified within their first 90 days by an on-staff American Red Cross instructor, and 100% of staff are required to hold this certification within their first 90 days. All Lead/Master Teachers must have an Early Childhood credential or a degree with hours in Early Childhood development. All Teachers/Assistant Teachers complete the ELCCT training course within the first 60 days, earn 30 continuing education training hours within the first year, and complete 24 additional hours every year after that. All Teachers must be current on the Oklahoma Registry within 90 days.
The Renaissance Schools provide students breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack, prepared on site in full-service kitchens by food service staff and meeting the guidelines of the Oklahoma Child Nutrition Program. All meals are whole wheat or whole grain with minimal sugar, 1% cow’s milk and whole milk are provided, and only 100% fruit juice is served. Lactose-free and soy milk are available upon doctor’s request, and the schools accommodate special religious and medical dietary requests. For parent convenience, Gerber baby food and formula are provided, and breastfeeding mothers are welcome to nurse inside their baby’s classroom.
Both facilities are located on 2.5 acres and have space for children to explore indoors and outdoors, including room for children to bring bikes and scooters to ride with friends. During inclement weather, children use the Kid's Kastle, Pokes Club House, or Renkids Klub indoor play areas for gross motor activities. The Renaissance Schools state that their goal is to offer children various opportunities of educational growth, and that their preschool classroom curriculum programs and Educational Enrichment Program are designed to offer age-appropriate and fun learning opportunities and additional learning options on a daily basis.
The Crosby family resides in Stillwater, Oklahoma, and supports the OSU Cowboys on a day-to-day basis. They state that they love the town of Stillwater and want to continue making sure the children of Stillwater receive care and learning for many years to come. Mrs. Crosby was a finalist for “Best of the Best Women Business Owners” for the state of Oklahoma at the 2002 Governor’s Conference.
For full-time employees after the first 60 days, the Renaissance Schools offer Blue Cross Blue Shield health insurance and Principal dental and vision coverage. After the first year, every full-time employee is enrolled in a 401K/Profit Sharing program and is fully vested after one year. After 90 days, full-time employees who work 36 or more hours per week start accruing paid time off up to 10 days per year and receive paid holidays off, and the organization offers free childcare to staff.
