Crossroads Carnegie Art Center Classes are part of Crossroads Carnegie Art Center, Inc., a 501(c)3 non-profit founded in 1963. The mission of Crossroads Carnegie Art Center, Inc. is to create opportunities for the entire community to be engaged, inspired, and transformed by the arts through participation in classes, workshops, exhibits, mentorships, and partnerships – a welcoming place where people meet and the arts speak. The organization is led by Executive Director Ginger Savage. Admission to Crossroads is free to all, and group tours of school groups or community groups are strongly encouraged, with the option to arrange for artists to be on site for demonstrations or talks. Crossroads participates in the Baker County Culture and Heritage Passport, is part of the NE Oregon Arts Trail and Dementia Friendly Baker County, and references the OR. Trail Interpretive Center and First Friday. The program provides accessible parking, an accessible door via 2nd St, accessible restrooms, an elevator, a manual wheelchair available to borrow in the downstairs studio, a sensory kit with headphones and fidget toys at the front counter, sound baffling panels in the downstairs studio, a point-of-sale system that does not require pin numbers or accessing a card reader, seating options including chairs with arms and gallery benches with an arm, and requires all speakers at events to use microphones. Staff is described as friendly, supportive, and willing to discuss and describe the constantly changing gallery space.
