Bend Science Station Programs

Bend Science Station Programs offers dynamic, lab-based STEM classes for elementary and middle school students. The program provides exceptional, laboratory-based science education for Central Oregon students in K–12th grade and includes summer programs described as “not your same old science camp.” The program also supports teachers with inquiry-based and graduate-level training, access to a Science + Technology Lending Library, supported curriculum, a state-of-the-art equipment lending library, and NGSS curriculum support.

Founded in 2002, Bend Science Station Programs operates in a NetZero STEM learning facility. The mission of Bend Science Station Programs is to inspire wonder in young scientists through lab-based experimentation, engaging them to be innovators and successful problem solvers. The program reports teaching 5,000 students from a broad range of socio-economic backgrounds from 40 schools across Deschutes County in the last year, including Targeted Title I schools and Spanish speaking classrooms. The program notes a record of 200 science fair awards and scholarships.
