About

Summer Art Camp is the 23rd Annual Summer Art Camp and includes hands-on visual arts activities such as painting, sculpture, and pottery. Visual arts classes run for a full week and are organized into morning and afternoon sessions.

• Schedule: 23rd Annual Summer Art Camp runs July 14–18, 2025, with visual arts classes beginning at 10:00am for the morning session and 1:00pm for the afternoon session on Monday.

Since 1986, the Cannon Beach Arts Association has been founded with the intent to enhance the vitality of the arts in Cannon Beach and the surrounding area. Instruction at Summer Art Camp is provided by experienced instructors. The program includes an annual celebratory Pop-Up Art Show reception, with a Gallery Pop Up Art Show scheduled for a Saturday in July 2026 from 10:30am to 12:30pm, where students will take work home from the exhibit after 12:00pm. The Cannon Beach Arts Association is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that was founded with the intent to bring a wide variety of programs to members of the community and to visitors to the Pacific Northwest coast. The organization supports local art and artists through exhibits, education, and events, and CBAA programs involve over 200 artists each year. The Cannon Beach Gallery provides a venue for diverse arts in the community, and CBAA offers an annual schedule of workshops and programs in the arts for children and adults, financial resources for individual artists to complete projects that are shared with the community, and internship and scholarship opportunities for youth and adults. Limited scholarships to art camp are offered annually, and diversity and inclusivity are stated as vital to CBAA’s mission and values, with students of all abilities and backgrounds celebrated and welcomed at camp. One published testimonial about the organization states, “Having a business model that doesn’t put profit first can do something incredible for the artist community.” — The Astorian. Parents are asked to pack a lunch and water bottle each day for students attending a full day, label all belongings with the student’s name, avoid sending peanut products, and share any gluten, dairy, or other allergies at check-in so staff can try to be mindful of this at snack time. Families are advised to plan for sunscreen and/or a hat for outdoor play, and students are asked to wear comfortable clothing that can be stained, damaged, painted, and played in. Families are also asked to make plans to arrive 15 to 30 minutes before the child’s class start time on the first day to sign in.
