About
Downtown Dance Summer Camps include high energy camps with hip-hop, jazz, and jazz funk dance, where campers learn new moves and routines in preparation for a mini-performance. Other camp options explore a variety of dance styles, including jazz, modern, hip-hop, and creative dance, and may end with an informal performance. Some morning camps focus on creative movement games, dance exercises, and active storytelling, and LET'S DANCE! CAMP participants receive dance props such as a scarf, crown and/or wand.

Downtown Dance opened in 2011 and uses the slogan “where every body can dance.” Its mission statement says that Downtown Dance believes everybody can dance with the right opportunity, recognizes diversity in age, background, and reasons for taking dance classes, and strives to offer a positive and encouraging learning environment for all dancers while sharing the joy of dance with the Corvallis area community.
Parent and student testimonials describe experiences with instructor Katherine and Downtown Dance, including comments about teaching that is “really fun” and “challenging,” a “strong community feeling,” a “friendly and welcoming” studio, and a place that feels like a “home away from home.” Testimonials also mention that Katherine and fellow instructors are described as “gifted teachers” who “inspire a sense of community through the joy of dance,” and that some families have formed long-term connections through the studio.
