Creswell Clubhouse is a local nonprofit that has been operating since 2009 and celebrated its 10-year anniversary in 2020. The program began as a school program in 2005 serving 12 children two afternoons per week and was originally created in partnership with the Creswell School District, United Way of Lane County, and the University of Oregon, later gaining nonprofit status in September 2009. Each year, Creswell Clubhouse serves over 100 children with after school and summer camp programs and operates as a Youth Development Program that provides youth services and programs in Creswell. The program belongs to the children served, their families, and the community of Creswell and has a partnership with the City of Creswell.

Creswell Clubhouse’s mission is to provide young people with a safe and healthy place to practice reading skills, receive help with homework, use computer resources, and take part in educationally enriching activities after school, while building stronger physical, intellectual, and emotional support systems for students and fostering responsible choice making. Children can keep academic skills sharp and receive tutoring from University of Oregon program leaders, and the Brain Zone Homework Club provides homework assistance from Clubhouse University of Oregon Program Leaders and Tutors, volunteers, and peers. The leadership team includes Michelle Amberg, Creswell City Manager. The program notes that research states young people involved in service learning projects gain many skills and have strengthened self-esteem and belief in their ability to complete meaningful projects for their community.
