About
GPGC Summer Junior Golf Program includes a Summer Junior Golf Program with complimentary instruction and clinics, play days, and a light breakfast before play. Juniors receive an annual Junior Golf Amenity Pack and take part in a full tournament schedule that presents both social and competitive events for all levels of play. All junior golf participants must be able to walk and carry their own equipment throughout their activities and play schedule.
• Ages: 6–18 years old
• Schedule: Juniors receive 7–8 weeks of complimentary instruction and clinics and 7–8 play days.
The GPGC Summer Junior Golf Program is open to children and grandchildren, grades 1st–12th, of Grants Pass Golf Club members, with additional openings that may be available for non-member juniors up to an estimated capacity of 125 total juniors. Parents are strongly encouraged to participate in every junior golf day activity to provide supervision and assistance, and a family adult to the participating junior must provide 3 volunteer commitments at the time of registration or pay an additional fee for each missing day. Junior Executive players (no older than 9 years) play holes 1 and 9 from 150 yards and must score 24 or less three times with a time goal of 40 minutes or less, with volunteer scorers providing supervision for each group. 3-Holers play from the red tee markers and must score 27 or less three times with a time goal of 45 minutes or less, with volunteer scorers providing supervision for each group. 6-Holers play from the red tee markers and must score 48 or less three times with a time goal of 1 hour and 20 minutes or less, with volunteer scorers providing supervision for each group. 9-Holers play from the red tees for girls and white tees for boys and must score 63 or less three times with a time goal of 2 hours and 10 minutes or less, with volunteer scorers providing supervision for each group. 18-Holers play from the red tees for girls and white tees for boys with a time goal of 4 hours and 15 minutes or less. The club lists a Junior Summer Golf Association among its activities and states a commitment and support to growing the game of golf to juniors.
PGA Professionals, including PGA Class A Professionals, are on staff. The leadership team includes Jeffrey Ott, General Manager and Head Golf Professional; Edith Johnson, Business Manager; and Cole Stover, Course Superintendent. Grants Pass Golf Club states that it is one of the premier golf clubs in Southern Oregon and that, through the experience of great golf on a superior course and an environment that prides itself on social connections and friendly people, the club embraces their community through associations with local golf programs, charity organizations, and business partners while providing value to the individual player.
