About

Chief Joseph Summer Camp is a week-long summer day camp where campers take part in activities such as painting, archery, geocaching, hiking, camp cooking, slip-n-slide, science, a water slide, boat-building, hands-on science, and active special projects. Campers attend several workshops and cooperative groups throughout the week that are put on by community volunteers, with workshops offering chances to learn and practice a variety of unique skills. Campers learn basic outdoor skills such as how to use a compass or GPS, how to cook over a campfire, archery, and the basic rules of hiking.

• Schedule: Week-long summer day camp; 2026 CJSC is happening July 13th–17th

Camp Director, Lisa Mahon, leads Chief Joseph Summer Camp. The camp’s mission statement is: “At Chief Joseph Summer Camp, we strive to provide important, fun, enriching, and memorable experiences for each camper!” Workshops and cooperative groups are put on by community volunteers, and workshops offered by community members allow children to learn and practice a variety of unique skills. Online registration is open for 2026 CJSC.
