Since 1970, Boys & Girls Clubs of the Rogue Valley has served thousands of Southern Oregon youth each year. The mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Rogue Valley is to make right choices, and become responsible, productive citizens. The program offers grade-grouped cohorts for youth in grades K–12, with breakfast, lunch, and snack included, and fun, education-based daily activities with weekly themes that focus on Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles and Good Character & Citizenship. Membership is open to youth in grades K–12, and the Boys & Girls Club is described as a youth development, recreation based facility, not a daycare.

The program uses an Open Door Policy for members along with a Safe Passage Policy that requires members to scan in and out each day. Members under the age of 11 must be retrieved from the Club by a parent, guardian, or other authorized adult unless otherwise specified. Members age 11 and older may leave the Club un-escorted under the guidelines of the open door policy and may escort other members of their household from the Club. Members that leave un-escorted without written permission face disciplinary actions up to and including suspension and termination of membership.

Community support for the summer programs includes sponsors in Grants Pass, Illinois Valley, and Phoenix/Talent, along with additional sponsors such as the Arthur R Dubs Foundation, AllCare Health, City of Grants Pass, Josephine County Cultural Coalition, Grants Pass School District 7, and Phoenix-Talent Schools. One shared testimonial states, “Our youth of today are our leaders of tomorrow and champions for a better quality of life in our community.”
