Meandering Maker Workshops & Parties operates as both a mobile craft entertainment pop-up and a brick-and-mortar studio, and it began as a mobile craft entertainment pop-up. The studio allows customers to craft and socialize with a glass of wine solo or with a group, and customers can bring their own snacks and drinks. For events at the studio there is no minimum number of participants, and customers can pick their own project as long as they can find an SVG file on Etsy, with the file cost passed on to the customer. Children's birthday parties allow families to bring their own cake and similar items, and the program will bring a uniquely crafted party experience to off-site events. All tools and materials are provided and ready to use, and customers leave with a personalized home decor piece. The space is described as a place for inspiration and celebration, with a focus on not being afraid to fail, noting that prototypes are never perfect and the “oops pile” is high. The retail location offers vintage finds, eclectic and fun new surprises, and fun eclectic on-trend decor with a vintage outdoor vibe.
The program hosts artist retreats, private events, and public workshops, and has also traveled to Bend to host a craft night for a clinic. The mission statement says that creativity, community, and relationship is the backbone of Meandering Maker. Jodi is the creator of Meandering Maker, and her husband Jeff Kerr is described as her sidekick. Jodi graduated from Oregon State University with a Tourism and Outdoor Leadership degree.
