About
Tesoro Equine and Vine Camps offers a 4-Day Horsemanship & Riding Camp where campers take part in games on horseback, bareback riding, and riding skills. The program includes horse safety and horse care, with hands-on activities such as grooming, leading, tacking up, giving horses a bath, and observing equine behavior in a natural environment. Campers also do crafts and activities, horse and rider games, a scavenger hunt, enjoy popsicles, splash in the hose, ride, bond with horses, form friendships, and work as a team, and the mini horses are included in the experience.
• Schedule: Summer camp with horses runs June 23–26, 2025 (Monday–Thursday), from 9:00am to 3:00pm each day; camps are limited to a maximum of 10 children, and camp weeks 6/10 and 6/24 are full.
• Price: Each camp costs $375, with a nonrefundable $150 deposit due two weeks before the camp date and the balance due on the first day of camp; there is a 3% charge for credit card payments.
Tesoro Equine and Vine Camps states its mission as teaching kids safe horsemanship and riding skills. The program loans ASTM certified riding helmets for the riding segment, and campers may bring their own helmets if they have them. Campers bring their own lunch, snack, and drink, while the program provides water bottles and popsicles and offers a refrigerator and freezer for storage. Recommended attire includes covered-shoulder tops, jeans, and closed-toe shoes, preferably a smooth-sole shoe with a heel for riding, and sunscreen is suggested because camps are held in sun and shade. A signed lesson and camp liability release form is required and must be brought on arrival, and payment by Venmo, Zelle, cash, or check is preferred. The program notes that camps fill up fast and are available on a first-come, first-serve basis, that camp cancellation due to weather will be rescheduled, and that campers have described it as the “Best camp ever.” Parents are directed to contact Tami Stockwell by phone or email for questions.
