Todos Juntos Fill the Gap In-School & After School Programs is part of a system of activities and programs that creates a web of support among schools, non-profit agencies, members of the community, local businesses, and local government. Todos Juntos was founded in 2000 by Eric Johnston and has expanded to community-based, comprehensive, integrated systems of programs in four communities in Clackamas County. The organization’s mission is “Creating connections that empower, educate, and inspire children, youth, and families.” Leadership for these programs includes Youth Program Director Michelle Emery, Director of STEM & Curriculum Development Ryen Tucker, Executive Director Amy Johnston, Director of Early Learning & Operations Shawna Johnson, Molalla Middle School Site Manager Albert Garcia, Molalla Family Resource Advocate Jovanna Leon, Molalla Prevention Specialist & Program Manager Ravin Lopez, Canby/Molalla Prevention Specialist & Program Manager Ravin Lopez, Family Resource Advocate & Program Coordinator Abdi Lopez, Estacada Middle School Site Manager Andrea Huffman, Estacada Community & Program Manager Julie Syring, Estacada/Eagle Creek Family Resource Advocate Jovanna Leon, Parent-Child Interaction Coordinator Ann Schweitzer-Johnson, Cedar Ridge MS Site Coordinator Allison Emery, and Youth & Family Resource Program Manager April Dobson. The programs focus on healing through prevention, enrichment, education, and community engagement, and can help support increases in healthy behaviors, self-esteem, school engagement, positive relationships, and stability. Based on student surveys, 95 percent of students reported that after participating in Todos Juntos programming they felt they had increased their connection and enthusiasm in school and community events. Partners such as the Estacada Public Library are part of the network that has helped Todos Juntos become a cornerstone of support for rural Clackamas County, Oregon. Testimonials from participating adults report increased communication skills with spouses, feeling like better listeners with their children, staying calmer during children’s disputes, and handling stress and situations in a more positive way.
