About
Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Treasure Valley Programs offer homework help, tutoring, and high-yield learning activities, along with academic activities to help prevent learning loss. The program also includes field trips and ongoing programs that emphasize problem solving, conflict resolution, emotional regulation, and respect for self and others. Members participate in specific programs such as Power Hour: Making Minutes Count, Project Learn, SMART Moves, Triple Play, Keystone, Torch Club, Youth of the Month, and Youth of the Year.
• Ages: 6–18 years old
• Schedule: After-School Program runs for 9 months during the school year, and the Summer Program runs for 9 weeks with 9.5-hour days Monday through Friday.
• Price: Membership costs $20.00 for nine months of after-school programs and meals, and $50.00 for the entire 9-week summer program with meals, as flat fees per member for each season.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Treasure Valley provide out-of-school programming for kids and teens in grades 1st–12th, including an extended learning environment on weekday afternoons and over 10 weeks in the summer. The teen center serves 7th–12th graders in a separate program area with a focus on leadership, academics, and lifestyle. Programs are structured around priority outcomes of Character, Leadership, Healthy Lifestyle, and Academic Success, and members are expected to emulate the character values of respect, responsibility, and integrity. The program serves nutritional meals as part of a healthy habits program and promotes exercise and nutrition for all members, with the summer program including 3 meals and 2 snacks each day.
Since 2009, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Treasure Valley have been in the forefront of youth development in the community and have served over 3,614 children in Ontario, Oregon and Payette, Idaho. The mission of the organization is to inspire and empower youth and teens through safe and impactful programs so they will reach their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens. Youth participate in activities in three focus areas: academic success, career preparation, and community service, and they are given academic support and the opportunity to serve in their community as volunteers developing leadership skills. The programs are supported by the generosity of individuals, local businesses, and community support.
The leadership team includes CEO Dana Castellani, Resource Development Director Madison Kendall, Operations Director Serene Hooper, Payette & Weiser Clubhouse Director Racheal Lopez, and Program Director Adriahanna Gonzalez, along with a volunteer Board of Directors led by Board Chair Mike Mahony. Omar, a member of Boys & Girls Clubs of Western Treasure Valley, was recognized as Oregon State Youth of the Year 2022, and the institution is an equal opportunity provider. One member, Omar, shared, “I knew had a great future ahead of me because that’s how the Club raised me.”
