K-Lean’s Tennis was established in 2004, and founder Kaleen Worley has been in business for over 17 years and has been teaching tennis for over 20 years. Kaleen Worley is a USPTA certified professional, a certified USPTA P2 tennis professional, and received a Bachelor Degree in Exercise Science from Portland State University. She serves as the tennis professional, founder of K-Lean’s Tennis, director of tennis, tennis club department manager, and racquet stringer. Her stated goal is to use tennis to assist each player to achieve their personal greatness through hard work, persistence, and planning, and K-Lean’s Tennis describes its goal as providing healthy recreation and exercise for Portland-based kids and adults while growing the game of tennis. The program states that it creates a fun and energetic atmosphere for kids and adults to meet new people and increase their fitness level, with a system dedicated to giving each player the skills and knowledge to achieve their greatness, along with coaching, challenging practices, hitting partners, and a friendly supportive team atmosphere for tennis players of all ages and levels.

K-Lean’s Tennis states that it provides high quality and professionally instructed tennis programs for adults and offers junior tennis lessons for beginner, intermediate, and advanced level players from ages 4–18 years old in what it describes as a passionate learning environment. Private lessons for beginner and intermediate players are described as focusing on establishing basic stroke fundamentals in a fun and innovative manner. Portland Summer Tennis Camps are for ages 7 to 17 and are for beginner to intermediate players. The program notes that it has programs for all ages and skill levels, provides a small student to instructor ratio, a nurturing atmosphere, personalized attention, and competitive coaching knowledge, and is prepared to support players whose goals are either competitive or recreational. K-Lean’s Tennis states that it provides private and group lessons for adults and juniors and has a development system for tennis players of all ages. The program uses the slogan “Tennis for the young, and the young at heart!” and notes that Kaleen’s philosophy is “Let What You Do, Be What You Love.”

Kaleen Worley grew up playing on public courts in the Pacific Northwest and, along with her doubles partner, won the NWAACC Division Women’s Doubles Title. One adult student, Carla Ikehara, says that Kaleen updated her game with minimal changes to technique, that she was able to transition easily and continue to compete successfully, and that these changes helped break bad habits that had led to injury. A parent, Debbie Stringer, reports that Kaleen helped her daughter improve her tennis game, saying her daughter’s backhand and serve improved and that she finished in the top ten in the Portland regionals.
