Vibe Studio Music Programs offers visual arts and music programming, including camps and workshops. The program includes Art & Rhythm Camp as one of its options. Vibe Studio Music Programs also runs the annual East Winds Band Camp, the Summer St. Johns Art Walk, Vibe @ School programs, and community-based studios in historically under-invested neighborhoods. Classes are offered on a fee-for-service basis, with scholarships available thanks to grant funding and community support, and there are youth leadership development options through teaching assistant opportunities.
Vibe started as a vision in 2006 and became a nonprofit in 2007. Its mission is “Empowering Portland’s underserved youth through art and music; Inspiring the next generation of creative leaders.” Community involvement includes a mural designed and created by Vibe middle school artists in 2022, funded in part by the Oregon Arts Commission and the Regional Arts and Culture Council. The program partners primarily with Title I schools to deliver arts programming and collaborates with teaching artists, local arts and music organizations, community partners, and the general public to build an inclusive, connected creative community.
