Youth Education / Youth Art Opportunities includes After School Art Club, Teen Clay Open Studio, Plein Air Landscape Painting, Clay Place Fall Term, Coiled Pots 101, and Scientific Bird Illustration Workshop. The listed activities include hand building, wheel throwing, open studio time, lessons, coil building techniques, and a hands-on bird illustration workshop for beginners. The offerings also include weekly after-school art sessions and teen clay sessions.

Programs

• After School Art Club — 5-8 and 9-12 · Wed, 3pm-5pm · $25–$200 · Youth art opportunities in Studio East for ages 5-8 and in Imagination Station for ages 9-12. $25 per day or $200 for the full term (10 sessions).
• Teen Clay Open Studio — 12-16 · Tue & Thur, 5:30-7:30pm · $160 · Young artists meet twice a week to learn the fundamentals of hand building and wheel throwing with open studio time and lessons.
• Plein Air Landscape Painting — 15+ · $180–$200 · Open to ages 15+. Painting experience is helpful but not required. $180 for Members, $200 for Non-Members.
• Clay Place – Fall Term — $225–$325 · Register for open studio + classes or just open studio. Early registration available for UVA Members only.
• Coiled Pots 101 — 15+ · 10/6 – 10/29, 5:30pm-8:30pm · $200 · Four weeks of coil building techniques. Students will learn different techniques that will give them success in creating pots without the potters wheel.
• Scientific Bird Illustration Workshop — 12-16 and 17+ · 11/07, Sat, 10:30am-12pm; 12:30am-2:3pm · $35–$45 · A hands-on workshop designed for beginners who are curious about scientific bird illustration.
