About

Sunriver Nature Center & Observatory Camps and Educational Programs include time at a nature center with birds of prey, bees, and other native wildlife. Participants can also spend time in a botanic garden, explore nature trails, and visit an observatory that offers solar viewing and nighttime programs listed on a calendar. The facility includes 8 acres of natural habitat surrounding the center and Lake Aspen, and it features what is described as the nation’s largest publicly accessible observatory.

• Ages: 5–18 years old
• Schedule: Spring daytime hours with the nature center open Tuesday–Sunday and solar viewing offered Tuesday–Sunday during late morning and afternoon

For over 50 years, generations of students and families have created memories at Sunriver Nature Center & Observatory Camps and Educational Programs. The mission of Sunriver Nature Center & Observatory is to inspire people of all ages to fall in love with nature and to reach for the stars. Volunteers contribute in areas such as animal care, education, grounds and landscaping, visitor services, the thrift shop, and administration, and the Second Tern Thrift Store team supports the organization through sales. Members receive unlimited free daytime admission, discounts on select programs, rentals and purchases, early registration for kids camps, a printed newsletter subscription, and access to members-only events, promotions, and offers.
