Eastside Timbers TOPSoccer

Eastside Timbers TOPSoccer is a soccer program where athletes play and practice soccer with USYS-certified coaches. The program includes ability-based groups so athletes can practice and play with peers of similar skill levels. Some athletes are paired with trained Buddies who support them in activities, while athletes who do not need a Buddy are supported by coaches and peers.

• Ages: 4–18 years old
• Schedule: 8 one-hour sessions per season, offered in Fall and Spring (8-week sessions)
• Price: $50 for 8 weeks ($6.25 per session)

The program is part of the US Youth Soccer TOPSoccer initiative. Eastside Timbers TOPSoccer states that it provides athletes with cognitive or physical disabilities the opportunity to play soccer in a fun, safe, and inclusive environment. USYS-certified coaches tailor practices to each athlete’s strengths, and TOPSoccer Buddies support 1–2 athletes as needed. A parent or guardian is asked to remain onsite, and scholarships are available upon request. Eastside Timbers owns and manages its sports complex, which it uses to deliver its programs. The program has also hosted annual TOPSoccer Disability Resource Fairs starting in 2023, with community organizations, families, caregivers, and vendors sharing resources in areas such as recreation, health and therapy, employment and transition services, education, advocacy, and family supports.
