Youth Music Project

Youth Music Project offers group classes and private lessons for children and youth. Group classes include Early Childhood, Roots, Rockers, Rollers, Rock Band, and Music Production, and private lessons are available in bass, drums, guitar, mandolin, piano, ukulele, violin, vocals, and music production. The program also offers summer camps, free trial lessons, field trips, workplace bonding, and instrument rentals for students who qualify.

Programs

• Group classes — Ages 2-5; Ages 6-18; Ages 10-18 depending on class · Quarterly registration; most classes meet once a week during each seasonal term · Small group classes for beginners and experienced students. Class types include Early Childhood, Roots, Rockers, Rollers, Rock Band, and Music Production.
• Private lessons — Children and youth; also notes adult students may only qualify for tuition assistance if they are still in high school · Weekly, 30-minute lessons · One-on-one lessons with a professional instructor. Instruments include bass, drums, guitar, mandolin, piano, ukulele, violin, vocals, music production, and more.
• Summer camps — Ages 6-18 · Week-long camps · Hands-on music camps.
• Free trial lessons — Free trial lessons to get started and be matched with an instrument and instructor.
• Field trips — Customized field trips using music to foster connection, collaboration, and creativity.
• Workplace bonding — Customized team-bonding experiences using music.

About the provider

Youth Music Project was founded in 2012. Its mission is to provide rock, pop, and country music education for youth by offering tuition assistance, instrument rental, and performance opportunities. Since inception, nearly 40% of enrollments have been made possible through donor-supported tuition assistance.

• Tuition assistance — Sliding-scale tuition assistance for eligible students. Approved students may receive reduced or no-cost access to one weekly class or lesson per term and one week-long summer camp per year.
• Instrument rentals — Instrument rental options are available for students who qualify.

Group classes are 50 minutes long and culminate in a live performance during student concert weeks. Enrollment in Rockers and Rollers classes requires instructor recommendation. New students can request an assessment. Tuition assistance is contingent on availability of funds and enrollment thresholds, requires documentation and annual renewal, and approved recipients must reapply every fall.
