Camp, Respite and Recreation Programs (Easterseals Eastern Pennsylvania)

Camp, Respite and Recreation Programs (Easterseals Eastern Pennsylvania) include arts and crafts activities, swimming, music and expressive arts, games, nature studies, and sensory experiences. The program offers two summer day camps and an overnight camp in the Poconos, with each camp featuring a full schedule of these activities at a 1:3 counselor to camper ratio. Weekend Respite Camp, Hang Time, and Growing Green are part of this group of camp and recreation options.

Camp Lily Berks is a summer day camp that offers a traditional outdoor camp experience with air conditioned indoor spaces. Camp Lily Lehigh Valley is a summer day camp that uses indoor space with modular areas for programming, covered outside decks, and a fully accessible outdoor pool. Growing Green is an overnight summer camp held in the Pocono Mountains, and Weekend Respite Camp offers two days and nights as a mini version of this overnight camp. Hang Time is an evening recreation program that connects students ages 12–21 with their peers for something fun to do on a Friday night that does not include parents. Camp staff attend a week-long training program that covers positive behavior supports, mobility and transfer techniques, inclusion and social skills modeling, choice giving strategies, and silliness and fun making, and in-house physical and occupational therapists provide training in best practices. The camp directors are certified Special Education teachers. Easterseals Eastern Pennsylvania states that its mission is to create life-changing solutions for individuals with disabilities and their families in their community by increasing independence, maximizing opportunities, minimizing barriers and enhancing quality of life.
