• Schedule: A year-round learning program that suits families’ schedules
All programs are led by licensed and trained early childhood educated staff. The Center Director, Amy Templin, has over thirty years of experience in the childcare field and holds an associate’s degree from Montgomery County Community College. The program’s approach to working with children and families follows the standards of quality and developmentally appropriate practices set by the National Association for the Education of Young Children. Luthercare for Kids states that it provides the healthiest meals and snacks in its programs.
The organization’s mission states that it believes the care and education of young children is the foundation of every community’s success and that it is committed to making access to high quality programming a reality for more children through center-based care, family supports, and training for child care providers and early childhood teachers throughout the central PA region. The mission also states that Luthercare for Kids exists to support each child in fulfilling their potential in emotional, social, physical, language, critical thinking, and creativity, and that it provides age appropriate experiences that promote growth and learning so children transition from one stage of development to the next and establish a foundation for lifelong success. Luthercare for Kids also states that it is committed to serving Lancaster and Lebanon counties and that its work reflects Christ’s love through service to others.
Parent testimonials describe children being entertained and always doing something fun, and one parent says their child enjoys every moment there and sometimes cries at pickup because they do not want to leave. Other parents say they feel their children are well cared for, that the center is clean and modern with a great learning program and positive, responsible staff, and that the services offered are the best around. Parents also mention feeling reassured by teacher evaluations, receiving helpful resources to be a better parent, and feeling more in tune with their children.
