During week-long summer camps on select days, camper communication options include sending candy grams, cookies and milk, a snack basket, or a birthday cake for the whole cabin to share.
• Ages: 8–18 years old
• Schedule: June–August, office staff answer phones 9am–5pm; September–May, office staff is part-time and return calls within 48 hours unless it is over a holiday.
• Price: All meals are included in the price of the camping program.
Camp Calvary is a Christ-centered, camper-conscious ministry that utilizes the outdoors to share the Gospel and edify the believer. Its mission is to share the Gospel and edify the believer, and its vision is to use the resources, time, and talents that the Lord has given to serve each person who comes to Camp Calvary. Its core values are being Christ-centered, camper conscious, biblically based, focused on teaching and preaching God’s Word to all, supporting the local church, and operating as a serving organization.
All full-time staffers are college-aged or older and are fully background checked per Pennsylvania state guidelines. They go through several weeks of training each summer, are certified in First Aid, CPR, and lifeguarding, and are certified to run all activities around camp, including counselor training.
Camp Calvary is a ministry of Calvary Baptist Church, which is located in Lansdale, Pennsylvania and is focused on loving God by knowing Him personally and worshiping Him collectively, with a vision of living God’s Word, growing with God’s people, and investing in God’s work. Camp Calvary relies on support and donations to continue reaching campers. In 2024, it marks 50 years since 53 acres of Berks County was purchased from the Assembly of God Church, which marked the start of Camp Calvary, and Calvary Baptist Church has been a faithful steward of the Camp Calvary ministry since 1974.
Campers are asked to bring bedding such as a sleeping bag or twin size sheets and blanket and a pillow, casual clothes for outdoor activities, a jacket or sweatshirt for chilly nights, sneakers, flip-flops, sandals, towels for swimming and showering, personal hygiene items, swimwear that follows the camp guidelines, a Bible, a flashlight, bug spray, sunscreen, and spending money for the snackshop, coffee shop, store, and craftshop. Campers are asked not to bring cell phones, electronic devices including smart watches, magazines, knives, cigarettes or tobacco of any kind, vapes, drugs or alcohol, fireworks, or firearms. The dress code allows loose-fitting shorts that are halfway down the thigh or longer, loose-fitting pants, and loose-fitting t-shirts, and does not allow yoga pants, tank tops, tight or short shorts, muscle shirts, cut-offs, or bikinis. Those on special diets must bring their own necessary supplements, and a refrigerator and microwave are available for food preparation.
