Lewis Music Studio offers specific instruction and classes in Piano, Guitar & Fretted Strings, Brass, Voice, Woodwind, Drums, Bowed Strings, Musical Theater, Rock Band, Music Technology, and a Music Calligraphy Workshop. The program also includes Itsy Bitsy Music, Sensory Music Class, Toddler classes, Intro classes, Melodic Introductions Group Classes, Summer Group, Summer Camp, and private music lessons.

• Schedule: Shop hours include options Monday–Thursday 12–8, Friday and Sunday by appointment, and Saturday morning to early afternoon, with additional weekday appointment times listed on the contact page.
• Price: Private music lessons, toddler classes, and intro classes are each billed per 4 week month.

Owner Becki Lewis has been playing the violin for over thirty years, also plays piano, viola, and flute, has been trained extensively in music theory, studied with Linda Andersen, Rick Choura, and Karen Dietrich, earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Duquesne University and a Director’s Credential in Early Childhood Administration from Point Park University, and has been teaching piano since 2001. The leadership of Lewis Music Studio is listed as Owner: Becki Lewis.

Staff at Lewis Music Studio include teachers with formal music degrees and extensive performance and teaching backgrounds. Mary Amrhein-May holds bachelor and master’s degrees in cello performance, studied with Janos Starker and Dr. Helga Winold, has performed with professional orchestras including in Evansville, IN and Columbus, IN, was a member of the Lexington Philharmonic and principal cellist of the U.K. orchestra, has taught chamber music at the university level, performs with several local professional ensembles, and is a panel member of the 2022 Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs. Drum instructor Chris Belin has operated Chris Belin’s Drum School & Freelance Drumming since 1999, has logged over 19,000 individual lessons and 850,000+ traveling miles, was voted “#1 Drum Lessons in Pittsburgh” via Thumbtack.com and holds a “top pro” rating, performs 85–150 shows per year in many parts of the United States, has worked with over 30 bands and artists in many genres, has appeared on over 100 recordings including more than 40 official studio releases, and has endorsements from Los Cabos Drumsticks, Soultone Cymbals, Canopus Drums, Attack Drumheads, RB Drum Co., Creative Percussion, and Drum Factory Direct.

Additional instructors include Kaitlyn Carr, who graduated with a B.S. in Music Education from Messiah University, learned multiple instruments, continued vocal and piano music education, and performed in Junior and Senior Voice Recitals and with the Messiah University Concert Choir, and who is working with the Bach Choir of Pittsburgh. John Daniels is pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education and Double Bass Performance at Westminster College (PA), has performed with and directed several ensembles at Westminster including the Westminster Wind Ensemble, Choirs, and Symphony Orchestra, has performed in numerous jazz groups, pit orchestras, and community groups such as the Pittsburgh Civic Orchestra, and has studied with Justin Bendel, Micah Howard, and Jeffrey Turner. Violin teacher Sarah Garin has been teaching violin for over 20 years, received a Bachelor of Music degree from the Pennsylvania State University, an Artist Diploma in Violin Performance from Duquesne University, and a Master’s Degree in the Art of Teaching from the University of Pittsburgh, is an adjunct violin instructor at Washington and Jefferson College, has a violin studio in her home in Mt. Lebanon, is a member of the Wheeling Symphony Orchestra, is an active freelancer in the Pittsburgh area, and has performed with Barry Manilow, Marie Osmond, and Andrea Bocelli.

Lewis Music Studio states that it strives to provide the teachers and the tools for a high quality music education for learners of all ages and abilities. The studio is described as South Fayette’s own School of Music and offers families what it describes as a fun, affordable, and convenient way to learn, with options to shop for music instruments and accessories, rent an instrument, take a tour, or discuss music lessons during shop hours. Sensory Music Class is offered for children ages 4–9 and is open to everyone.

Owner Becki Lewis enjoys playing locally at her church, and Mary Amrhein-May is a regular member of music ministry at St. Louise de Marillac Church and is an advocacy volunteer for the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation. One parent, Michelle H., reports that her son has continually progressed in his skill level and music theory and that he enjoys it, and she notes seeing the satisfaction on his face when he masters a song he has been practicing.
