YWCA Carlisle & Cumberland County Youth Education Programs include after school programs, enrichment programs, and professional trainings. The Education Department also offers adult programming such as support groups, women’s groups, and counseling, along with activities like Qi Gong, Al-Anon, and Moving Circles. YWCA Carlisle & Cumberland County serves everyone living in Cumberland County and offers many programs that focus on women and girls while also supporting all members of the community in need, regardless of gender or gender identity. Corporate partners, local businesses, individual donors, local clubs, organizations, and private foundations contribute resources that support survivors and prevention and empowerment programs for all ages.
The organization offers Sexual Assault/Rape Crisis Services, including a 24/7 hotline at 1-888-727-2877, counseling, and support for survivors and their families. Both staff and volunteer advocates support sexual assault and human trafficking clients in emergency rooms, law enforcement settings, court proceedings, and child advocacy center appointments. Little Wonders Preschool provides early childhood education, and the Pad Pantry offers free menstrual products to those in need and distributes feminine hygiene products. Second Season provides elderly women over 65 a space to make friends and learn with presenters from various organizations, including health centers and the Pennsylvania Department of Treasury. Qi Gong is open to all ages and genders, and adult programming includes social and educational sessions.
YWCA Carlisle & Cumberland County also runs several giving and memorial campaigns, including Circle of Angels during the holiday season, Circle of Giving as a special giving tier with insider updates and event-related invitations, Robin’s Way in honor of a former Executive Director to support services for survivors, and Match Madness with Partnership for Better Health, in which donations made in March are matched and awarded to the organization.
