About

Burn Brae Day Camp of Creative Arts offers daily activities that include arts, technology, science, physical activities, sports, and swimming. Campers take part in Red Cross Instructional Swim and Recreational Swim, and can choose from activities such as art, gaga, yoga, nature, Movie Production, TV/Video, Improv Theater, archery, Outdoor Camping Skills, magic, and puppetry. Campers select majors and minors, with majors meeting for 1 ½ hours daily and minors meeting for 45 minutes each, two per day from Monday through Thursday.

• Schedule: Two through ten-week sessions during Weeks 1–8 for all ages, with additional Camp Plus sessions in Weeks 9 and 10 for all ages

Programs are organized by age, including Pre-Majors for ages 3–6, Step-Up for ages 7–8 with one major, Juniors for ages 7–9 with one major and four minors, Seniors for ages 10–15 with one major and four minors, and Teen Quest for ages 13–15 with one major and three minors. Some electives are preselected for the youngest campers, and sports offerings change each week. The camp provides Red Cross Instructional Swim and Recreational Swim daily, has a Registered Nurse on-site all day every day, offers before and after care and transportation for an additional cost, and provides fresh fruit at lunch and daily snacks. The camper to staff ratio is 5:1, with a 4:1 ratio for Pre-Majors ages 3–6, and each camper receives a camp t-shirt and camp photo. Additional events and options include pizza parties, Arts Fests, trips for ages 8–15, Fun Late Night for ages 9 and up, a Pre-Camp Week for all ages, and Camp Plus in Weeks 9 and 10.

The leadership team includes a Pre-Major A Lead Counselor for ages 3–4 campers, a Sports Instructor, Pool Director, Head Step-Up Counselor, Teen Quest Head Counselor who also teaches brass, woodwinds, piano, jazz band, and voice, a Guitar/Drums/Rock Band Instructor, a Painting/Drawing Instructor, a Movie Production, TV/Video, and Improv Theater Instructor, an Archery and Outdoor Camping Skills Instructor, and a Nature Instructor. Staff credentials include certified professional teaching staff with degrees and training in education, music, art, dance, and related fields, as well as CPR, AED, and First Aid certification for at least one staff member. The camp holds Red Cross Instructional Swim credentials.

The camp states that it is dedicated to enriching children’s lives through exploration of arts, technology, science, and physical activities, and that it maintains a warm, nurturing, non-competitive atmosphere with individual attention for campers.
