Eastern York Area Recreation Commission Youth Programs offers activities in athletics, fitness, recreation, education, culture, entertainment, wellness, family events, child care, and travel opportunities. The programs serve community members of all ages and are organized by the Eastern York Area Recreation Commission.
The Eastern York Area Recreation Commission was founded in November of 2002 with the assistance of the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR), and operation began in April of 2003. It is a not-for-profit organization that has been providing quality care since 2002 and was created in response to strong demand for organized recreational opportunities in the Eastern York area. The organization is committed to encouraging a sense of community in the Eastern York area by offering professionally organized recreational and educational programs and activities and by designing programs that partner with families and local organizations.
The mission of Eastern York Area Recreation Commission Youth Programs is to provide exceptional and inclusive care to school-age children of the Eastern York School District in a nurturing and supportive environment. The mission also states that the programs are designed to partner with families and local organizations to prioritize educational growth and the development of children’s problem-solving skills, creativity, and critical thinking, while maintaining open communication with families and creating educational opportunities for children to thrive and grow.
The leadership team includes Director Amanda Wompler and staff members Mr. Kory (AGS Kreutz Creek), Ms. Jamie (AGS Canadochly), Mr. Kolby (AGS Kreutz Creek), Ms. Kelly (AGS Wrightsville), Ms. Nevaeh (AGS Wrightsville), Ms. Emma (AGS Canadochly), Ms. Sierra (AGS Floater), Ms. Nicole (AGS Wrightsville), Ms. Annemarie (Group Supervisor Canadochly), and Ms. Jonni.
