YMCA of Greater Erie Youth Programs and Camps

YMCA of Greater Erie Youth Programs and Camps are part of a nonprofit community resource that offers services and programs in youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The programs include early and school-age education at nine locations that provide care to infants as young as six weeks, as well as nine summer camp locations for school-age children. The YMCA of Greater Erie also operates an outdoor recreation center and a public camping and recreation center as part of its youth programs and camps.

The YMCA of Greater Erie has a history of more than 150 years, and the YMCA Movement celebrates its 175th anniversary in 2026. Erie’s first library and adult education classes for immigrants, as well as Erie’s first basketball games, swimming pools, organized camp for boys, and public playgrounds, originated with the YMCA. The mission of the YMCA of Greater Erie is to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build a healthy spirit, mind, and body for all. The YMCA of Greater Erie works with like-minded organizations to align its priorities with the community vision identified by Erie Vital Signs. YMCAs’ financial assistance policies state that no one is turned away for reasons of inability to pay.
