Elite Sports Academy offers baseball training, softball training, sports team rentals, batting cages, sports camps, birthday parties, and sports performance training. Instruction options include baseball hitting and pitching, softball hitting and pitching, baseball and softball fielding, and baseball/softball video analysis lessons. The program also offers baseball/softball video analysis lessons using the Right View Pro Video Analysis System.
• Schedule: Indoor facility hours are weekdays 12:00pm–8:00pm and weekends 11:00am–3:00pm, with November outdoor cages open weekends 11:00am–3:00pm and best times to call between noon and 7:00pm on weekdays.
Elite Sports Academy’s facility features a 14,000 sq. ft. indoor space on 3 acres of land, a 10,000 sq. ft. multiuse indoor turf area, an outdoor turf baseball and softball infield, a sports performance training area, three retractable batting tunnels, six outdoor Iron Mike batting cages that are closed in winter, HitTrax and Rapsodo simulators with data analysis, and a 700 sq. ft. party room.
Elite Sports Academy opened in 2011. Co-founder Steve Rau has been involved with baseball in the Lehigh Valley as a player and coach for over 30 years, is a graduate of Emmaus High School, and is a former pitcher at the University of Pittsburgh and Muhlenberg College. He has been teaching baseball since age 15, has given over 10,000 baseball lessons since ESA opened in 2011, holds a bachelor’s degree in Business and Information Systems and a master’s degree in Instructional Technology, and has specialized in baseball and softball video analysis lessons for both hitting and pitching, analyzing several hundred players using the Right View Pro Video Analysis System. Instructor Scott Heppenheimer has over 25 years of youth baseball coaching experience, was a two-year varsity starter and first-team all-colonial league outfielder at Salisbury High School in 1986, has been Assistant Varsity Baseball Coach at Salisbury High School since 2001, played 17 years in the tri-county league, and has coached Salisbury Legion and Avengers Tournament Baseball teams. Instructor Chris Cope served as Emmaus High School Varsity Softball Pitching Coach from 2000–2008, including District XI championship seasons in 2004 and 2007, pitched in East Penn Men’s Softball from 1986–2009, pitched for the Allentown Patriots when they were Men’s ASA PA State Runner-Up in 2004, pitched in four national championships in Nebraska, Georgia, Texas, and California, was ASA USA National Runner-Up in 2006, has been a private pitching instructor since 1999, and is listed on the National Registry for Fastpitch Instructors. Instructor David Wildrick has over eight years of coaching experience, was a two-year varsity starter at Saucon Valley High School in 2009–10, was Honorable Mention Colonial League pitcher/second baseman in 2010, serves as Lead Instructor of Rookies Baseball Camp at Elite Sports Academy, and has been an Avengers Tournament Baseball coach for four years. Elite Sports Academy states that its mission is to provide baseball and softball training, sports team rentals, batting cages, sports camps, and birthday parties, and to foster a love for the game and help athletes of all levels reach their full potential.
