Asbury Woods Programs and Camps

Asbury Woods Programs and Camps include activities such as creeking, stomping, looking for macroinvertebrates, creek exploration, and wading in Walnut Creek. Participants may go mountain biking on the Greenway Trail, hiking on new paths, running, and visiting places like Walnut Creek, the Grandfather Tree, and the bridge over Walnut Creek. Programs also include learning how maple syrup is made, observing bees, viewing wildflowers on the trails, bird watching, watching birds, listening for spring peepers near the Wasiesky Teaching Pavilion, guided programs, an Owl Prowl, and sessions focused on features of fall, animals of the exhibit hall, tracks and signs, and life in the cold, as well as winter activities like brisk hikes along snow-packed trails, cross country skiing, and snowshoeing.

Asbury Woods Programs and Camps are part of an independent, non-profit organization. The organization’s mission is to inspire a greater connection to the natural world by protecting, managing and interpreting its property, providing outdoor recreational opportunities, and offering environmental education experiences. Asbury Woods achieves this mission through educational, environmental and outdoor recreational programming for schools, community groups, families and individuals of all ages, and annually impacts more than 100,000 people who use the trails, attend festivals or participate in education and community outreach programs. The property includes over 234 acres of preserved land with 5 miles of trails, old-growth forests, landscaped gardens, wetlands, boardwalk trails and dirt trails, as well as animal exhibits and free public access at the Andrew J. Conner Nature Center and a network of trails connecting Browns Farm and the Nature Center via the Greenway Trail.
