For over six decades, Deer Valley YMCA Family Camp has welcomed families, schools, organizations, and individuals. Its mission is to provide an unforgettable camp experience rooted in the YMCA core values of caring, honesty, respect, responsibility, and faith. Deer Valley YMCA Family Camp is accredited by the American Camp Association. Deer Valley is owned and operated by the YMCA of Greater Pittsburgh, a nonprofit organization committed to building healthy spirit, mind, and body for all.

Deer Valley YMCA Family Camp features four main hiking trails that vary in length and challenge, including routes such as Around the Lake, Nature Trail, Cove Rocks, Baughman Rocks, and Mount Davis. The camp offers weekend programs during each season with hot meals, comfortable lodging, and camp activities, including options such as Spring Family Weekends, Girl Scout Winter Weekends, and Work Weekends. It also hosts custom retreats for youth groups, schools, faith-based organizations, nonprofits, and corporate teams. A calendar raffle is held each year in which a Deer Valley calendar is shared with all campers, each calendar has a unique four-digit identification number, and several winning numbers are drawn each month; winners receive a free weekend at camp for up to five people.

Parents from multiple generations describe Deer Valley YMCA Family Camp as a long-standing family tradition, noting activities such as kayaking, riding horses, enjoying the waterfront and hiking trails, and gathering around the campfire. Testimonials from the Martin, Johnson, and Rivera families mention children learning to kayak and ride horses, spending time at the barn and on sports fields, and returning to camp over three generations. These families also state that the camp community reflects the YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect, responsibility, and faith.
