Darlington Arts Center offers Play With Clay, Kids Sewing Club, Pottery by Wheel and Hand, Introduction to Costume Design, Imagination Afternoon, Paint and Clay Works, Let’s Get Crafty, Jewelry Making, Clay Creations, and Comics and Cartoons. Activities include working with model magic, polymer clay, and ceramic clay; introductory sewing; wheel throwing and hand-built clay work; costume pieces using colors, patterns, and fabrics; arts and crafts with everyday items; painting in acrylic and watercolor; jewelry making with beading and wire work; and drawing anime, cartoons, and comic book characters.

• Play With Clay — 4-8 · Mondays, 4:00pm-5:30pm · Learn to use model magic, polymer clay, ceramic clay and more to build sculptures and functional items.
• Kids Sewing Club (8-12) — 8-12 · Mondays, 4:00pm-5:30pm · Introductory sewing class with project-based instruction; no experience necessary.
• Pottery by Wheel and Hand — 10-13 · Tuesdays, 4:00pm-5:30pm · Learn the basics of wheel throwing and continue creating clay creations by hand.
• Introduction to Costume Design — 7-12 · Tuesdays, 4:00pm-5:30pm · Project-based class creating costume pieces using colors, patterns, and fabrics.
• Imagination Afternoon — 5-10 · Wednesdays, 4:00pm-5:30pm · Create arts and crafts using simple everyday items and atypical art supplies.
• Paint and Clay Works — 7-12 · Wednesdays, 4:00pm-5:30pm · Learn painting in acrylic and watercolor plus three-dimensional ceramic art.
• Let's Get Crafty — 5-10 · Thursdays, 4:00pm-5:30pm · Create fun arts and crafts with paint, clay, fabric, and yarn.
• Jewelry Making — 7-12 · Thursdays, 4:00pm-5:30pm · Weekly jewelry-making class with beading, wire work, and design techniques.
• Clay Creations — 4-8 · Fridays, 4:00pm-5:30pm · Try clay projects and build sculptures and functional items.
• Comics and Cartoons — 7-12 · Fridays, 4:00pm-5:30pm · Learn to draw anime, cartoons, and comic book characters.

About the provider

Darlington Arts Center has existed for over 40 years to provide arts appreciation, development, and enrichment. Its mission statement is “Every Art for Everyone.” It provides outreach programming in Delaware and Chester Counties, arts instruction to schools and communities needing supplemental arts programming, scholarships, and outreach programs to children with special needs and economically disadvantaged youth living in the urban areas of Chester and West Chester.

A non-refundable Family Membership of $75, valid from September 1 through August 31, is required to enroll in all activities except workshops and is pro-rated to $40 for activities beginning after March 1. Private music lesson registration may not be made more than 2 weeks prior to start date.
