Whitaker Center Kids & Schools Programs

Whitaker Center Kids & Schools Programs include activities where kids can create their own stop-action film, put themselves into the movies in the Foley Studio, and explore how different sound effects are created in an interactive gallery. The program also offers activities and design challenges with Ozobots™, Spheros™, 3Doodler™ 3D printing pens, tangrams, and K’NEX®. Kids & Schools programs include field trips and educator-led programs on weekends.

• Schedule: Science Center open Friday–Monday, 10:00 A.M.–5:00 P.M.; doors open one hour before showtime in Sunoco Performance Theater

Whitaker Center for Science and the Arts states that its mission is to be Central Pennsylvania’s premier center for education and cultural enrichment and a thought leader in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics (STEAM) engagement for all ages and backgrounds. The organization states that by investing its resources in educating, entertaining, and engaging visitors, it aims to spark a movement that makes the community a better place to live, work, and play. The Kids & Schools offerings also list Girls In STEAM, Camps, and Little Learners, and the program promotes a Community Day when visitors can visit for free.
