About

Souderton Strikers Field Hockey offers indoor and outdoor field hockey, including training and tournament play. The program also includes Harleysville Field Hockey & Lacrosse Camps, Junior Stars Field Hockey, Junior Stars Lacrosse, and participation in the Junior Premier Outdoor League for spring training and games.

• Ages: 7–18 years old
• Schedule: Practices start November 1 and run weekly until mid March, with teams playing in 2 to 3 tournaments a month and a total of 5 tournaments for the indoor season.

Souderton Strikers Field Hockey offers teams at each age level, including U8, U10, U12, U14, U16, and U19, with participation throughout the year in both indoor and outdoor field hockey. The program runs structured and organized practices and a tournament schedule for the indoor season, and it offers annual outdoor tournament teams in November, January, April, and summer. Players in grades 9–12 have a recruiting home page with Striker player profiles, and the program features college commitments and Striker college graduates. All players must be USFHA members and must have a practice pinnie, which is available to buy at the first practice.

The program includes elite to beginner programs and training, and it competes at the largest college showcases. Souderton Strikers Field Hockey has plans for teams to qualify and attend the National Indoor Tournament, with teams sent from each age group, and the club has grown into a consistent performer at area tournaments, qualifiers, festival, and the National Indoor Tournament. Team USA selection is noted for Strikers Coach Chris, who was selected to the USA Men's National Senior Indoor Team for the 2023–2024 cycle.

Up to 20 different coaches from strong college field hockey programs work with the athletes, and there are three goalie coaches on staff. Michelle Waldspurger serves as Souderton Strikers Field Hockey Manager, is the Head Field Hockey Coach at Dock Mennonite Academy High School, and is the Indian Valley/Junior Stars Field Hockey Director. The program’s mission is summarized as Passion / Development / Competition, stating that Souderton Strikers shares a distinct level of passion for field hockey among its coaches and players and aims to develop athletes at the grassroots level through year-round indoor and outdoor training to elevate their understanding and enable them to compete at the highest level.

Originally named Indian Valley United, the club started in 2005 when three area coaches wanted their schools to play during the winter months.
