Camp Cayuga

Camp Cayuga offers a Free Choice Program, also called the Elective Program, for campers entering 5th grade and higher. It also has a Summer Camp for ages 6 to 16, with a Junior Campus option for campers entering 8th grade who are 13 years old before camp and a Teen Campus for teenagers entering 8th to 11th grade who are 13 years of age or older before camp.

Programs

• Junior Campus — Campers entering 5th grade and higher participate in the Elective Program. Campers entering 8th to 11th grade who are 13 years of age or older (before camp) reside on Teen Campus. Campers entering 8th grade who are 13 years old (before camp) have the option to reside on Junior Campus.
• Teen Campus — Teenagers entering 8th to 11th grade who are 13 years of age or older (before camp).
• Free Choice Program / Elective Program — Campers entering 5th grade and higher.
• Summer Camp — Ages 6 to 16.

About the provider

Camp Cayuga was founded in 1950 by Fred Williams. Residential camping began in 1957, Mike and Arline Buynak purchased the camp in 1962, and full-time directorship was turned over to Brian Buynak in 1983. Brian Buynak is the owner and director, Steve Beals is the Director of Teen Campus, and Tracie Romansky is Camp Administrator and Office Manager. The camp says it is committed to bringing children of diverse backgrounds together in a healthy camp environment where they can develop artistically, athletically, and socially, and learn friendship, independence, and cooperation.

Cayuga is nonsectarian. Religious services are available and attendance is optional. Campers of the Jewish faith have a voluntary lakeside service on Fridays. Christian campers are transported to Honesdale for churches of various denominations. Teen Campus is reserved exclusively for teens. Campers entering 8th grade who are 13 years old before camp may instead reside on Junior Campus. The staff to camper ratio is 1 to 4.
