About

Jersey Shore Branch YMCA Youth Programs include a basketball program, school age childcare, youth sports and activities, and summer camp. The branch also offers group exercise classes, personal training, birthday parties and rentals, and child watch during specific hours.

• Schedule: Branch hours are Monday through Friday from 5:30 am to 8:00 pm and Saturday from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, with child watch available Monday through Friday from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm.
• Price: 24-hour access to the Jersey Shore YMCA is an additional service outside of normal membership rates with a monthly fee of $10.00 per person; the first key fob for 24/7 access is included at join, a replacement key fob costs $20, and if a fob is not returned when the service is cancelled there is a $25 fee.

The Jersey Shore Branch YMCA includes amenities such as a gymnasium, locker rooms, racquetball courts, a sauna, school age childcare space, summer camp space, group exercise areas, free weights, cardio and strength equipment, child watch space, and areas for birthday parties and rentals. The branch offers 24-hour access with key fob entry, supported by a 24-hour video recording system for security purposes, and follows a Zero Tolerance Policy related to 24-hour access along with a guest policy that restricts guests to regular business hours only. Everyone using 24-hour access is required to have a personal key fob and scan it when entering, and a telephone is placed near the 24-hour entrance for emergencies.

The Jersey Shore YMCA was built in 1907, with a back addition added around the 1940s and a lower addition added in 1985. The bowling alley operated through the mid to late 1990s and by 2005 was an unused space that served as a teen hangout. In 2007 the Jersey Shore YMCA joined the newly formed River Valley Regional YMCA association as the fourth branch. A capital renovation in 2012 created building-wide improvements, including an official Teen Center, a Child Watch Center, and a Wellness Center with a Group X room. By 2021 the branch completed a front porch and entry restoration, social room renovation, bathroom improvements, weight room renovation, gym floor refurbishment, and locker room improvements.

The leadership team includes Executive Director Christine Kinney, Program & Wellness Director Tyler Laub, School Age Childcare Director Alissa Meyer, and District Executive Director for 24-hour access contact Corinne Amrom. The mission of the Jersey Shore Branch YMCA is to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build a healthy spirit, mind, and body for all. The Jersey Shore Branch YMCA is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit social services organization dedicated to youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The branch is home to a basketball program with more than 150 participants, school age childcare, and numerous youth sports and activities, and it hosts community organizations such as little league, scouts, Jersey Shore Cheer, a church, Walnut Street Christian School, CCCC’s, Kiwanis Club, and meeting space for groups including the Love Center and bible studies.
