YMCA of Greater Erie Youth Programs at Camp Sherwin are part of the YMCA of Greater Erie’s services and programs in the areas of youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. These youth programs take place at an outdoor recreation center that is operated as a public camping and recreation center. They are one of the YMCA of Greater Erie’s 9 summer camp locations for school-age children.
The YMCA of Greater Erie has a history of more than 150 years, and the YMCA movement celebrates its 175th anniversary in 2026. The YMCA of Greater Erie serves a diverse population of men, women, and children with an emphasis on families, through four membership branches, an outdoor recreation center, nine early and school-age education program centers, and community outreach programs serving more than 35,000 people. The YMCA of Greater Erie operates one public camping and recreation center in addition to its summer camp locations. YMCAs’ financial assistance policies ensure that no one is turned away for reasons of inability to pay. At the YMCA of Greater Erie, the stated mission is to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build a healthy spirit, mind and body for all.
