About
Kirchenwald offers adventure trip camps that include travel to the Adirondack Mountains and to the beaches of Assateague Island, Maryland. Campers take part in activities such as a climbing tower, climbing wall, ropes course, lake and sports activities, as well as Bible Study, worship, nature activities, games, and other challenging events. Well trained counselors guide campers through age appropriate activities that are intended to stimulate and challenge them physically, intellectually, socially and spiritually.
• Schedule: In addition to summer camp, Kirchenwald offers programs in the Spring, Winter and Fall
Since 1969, Kirchenwald has provided children a unique place to grow and mature. The program’s mission is described as “The Church in a place and time apart where Christ’s love is experienced and faith is renewed.” Kirchenwald is part of the Lutheran Camping Corporation, which carries out its mission as a gracious expression of God's love and provides a creative, Christ-centered ministry for people in all stages of life in partnership and cooperation with congregations and individuals. The camp is accredited by the American Camp Association, which states that this accreditation means Kirchenwald complies with research-based standards in areas such as staff qualifications and training, water safety procedures, food services, health care, operational practices and emergency management. Director Zach Weiss leads the program.
